Two South Dakota Mines professors are working to improve mining statistics, thanks to a $1.25 million National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) grant focused on making safer underground mining conditions.

The Society of Chemical and Synthetic Biology (SCSB) recently awarded Rajesh Sani, Ph.D., South Dakota Mines professor in the Karen M. Swindler Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, with the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award.
