The 11th annual Student Research Symposium at South Dakota Mines, from April 6-8, includes an array of cutting-edge research across many fields of study.

The 11th annual Student Research Symposium at South Dakota Mines, held from April 6-8, included an array of cutting-edge research across many fields of study. The symposium, offered virtually this year, covered two days of video presentations from both graduate and undergraduate students. Awards were given to the top presenters in both undergraduate and graduate categories. 

The winners are listed here: 

Graduate Students:
1st - Ram Saraswat, Department of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering

2nd - Whytneigh Duffie, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering

3rd - Fleford Redoloza, Department of Geology and Geological Engineering


Undergraduate Students:
1st - Jackson Cates, Department of Computer Science and Engineering

2nd - Seth Bendigo, Department of Physics

3rd - Joseph Brett, Department of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering 

In total 74 students presented research happening across the Mines campus during the symposium. The awards ceremony included $3,500 in cash prizes for top winners.
