Brief Bio

Dr. Robinson is a Professor and Associate Department Head of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, in 2008, following his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah State University in 1998 and 2000, respectively. Before pursuing his Ph.D., Dr. Robinson worked at ABS Consulting, focusing on the design of new buildings and the seismic retrofitting of existing structures. He is a licensed Structural Engineer in Utah, where he was previously employed.

Research Expertise

Dr. Robinson’s research interests are in the areas of composite processing and the development of multi-functional composite structures.
