Student Health Services
Student Health services is operated by Monument Health Urgent Care. They ensure that
students who present a current South Dakota Mines student ID to either Student Health
Services or Monument Health Urgent Care shall receive routine and acute outpatient
medical care. These basic services are covered as part of their student fees. Any
additional services needed, that are not covered by student fees, may be processed
through your child's health insurance or need to be paid for out of pocket.
Location & Hours
Student Health Services is located in the Surbeck Center directly down the hall from
the Rocker Shop.
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. Please call to schedule. 605-394-2354
Monday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday - Thursday: 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
After Hours or Weekends:
If you need care after hours or on weekends, you may visit any Monument Health Urgent Care Clinic for service. You must provide your South Dakota Mines ID to ensure charges for services
match services provided on campus. Services not covered by the South Dakota Mines
contract will be billed to the student/student insurance.

Summer Information:
On-campus health services is closed over the summer. Summer students can visit the
Monument Health Urgent Care on Jackson Boulevard or North Lacrosse Street to receive
the same care and benefits offered during the academic year.
Summer Students are defined as:
Students actively enrolled in any South Dakota Mines course for credit that is currently
in session between course start and end date.

If you need to speak with a medical professional, call (605) 519-4703 and a nurse
will be available to assist you seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
