CAPE Laboratory
Materials Synthesis: Wet Chemistry
CAPE synthesizes various materials, including multifunctional nanocomposites, using wet chemistry techniques, including patented self-assembly methods used in energy storage applications. The wet chemistry facilities at the CAPE Lab include 7 fume hoods, 2 walk-in fume hoods, 3 glove box systems, multiple reaction vessels, solvent extraction systems, positive-pressure filtration systems, a range of mixing systems (including a flow through ultra-sonication system and homogenizers), spray coating systems (e.g., Sono-Tek Ultrasound system), vacuum furnaces, and tube furnaces.
