Intent to Propose
The Intent to Propose (ITP) page is designed to quickly and easily inform the Department Chair/Head, Provost, Vice President for Research, and Sponsored Programs that a researcher is beginning to work on a proposal. The page uses the researcher's main server login as a secured means of entry and also allows several of the fields on the page to pre-fill based on the information associated with the research in South Dakota Mines' database. Along with the departmental information and e-mails that are pre-filled, the researcher will need to enter the Start and End Date of the proposal, the Submission Deadline, the link to the RFP or BAA and a small one or two sentence paragraph describing the proposed research. A memo field is provided to insert the proposal abstract. In many cases, this may be the abstract or project description that is submitted to the agency.
When the researcher uses the submit button all of this information is e-mailed to sponsored programs along with cc's to the researcher, the Department Chair, the Provost, and VP for Research informing all of them that there is a proposal in the works.
