Technical sales is an important role for companies that manufacture high tech products. Having a technically competent team to position their products and support through the sales process is fundamental to company growth strategies. College graduates can participate in roles of technical sales, technical marketing, field applications engineers and more. Having the technical background and disposition are important elements for these positions. Technical sales positions are often well compensated with earning potential above that of typical engineering positions.
