Cultural Diversity
South Dakota Mines is an international community of scholars. The campus has students, faculty and staff from more than 40 countries. This diversity adds to the South Dakota Mines educational experience. At South Dakota Mines, individuals from different
backgrounds and different cultural perspectives learn together and work together towards solutions and achievements.

Institutional support is available for a wide variety of groups. The
Ivanhoe International Center helps students from around the globe integrate into the South Dakota Mines experience. A broad program of services is provided to foreign students in several degree programs
and students wanting to study abroad. The
Office For Inclusion supports the needs of Native American, African American, Latino/a, Asian and underrepresented student demographics. This is done through a number of
activities including; guidance, advocacy, support meetings, study groups, and more.

Ivanhoe International Center helps students from all over the world join and succeed at the South Dakota Mines.
Office For Inclusion
The
Office For Inclusion supports students from diverse backgrounds and enriches the campus experience at South Dakota Mines.
Military students, both veteran students and
those planning a military career, find support and resources at the
Veteran's Resource Center (VRC). South Dakota Mines VRC provides veterans with a relaxing place to study and connect with other veterans on campus. The VRC provides
a host of services including; tutoring, job assistance, scholarship searches and applications, academic and life skills workshops, and more. In addition the VRC has snacks, an information board, and several couches and chairs for veterans to relax
in.
A variety of international, professional, and campus
student organizations are available as well. Events like the annual Cultural Expo and the Diwali celebration, produced by the India Club, draw enthusiastic
participation from the campus and the Rapid City community.
