Drama club Executive Council meeting – September 21,
2000
- President
Jen Nelson opened the meeting at 4:05 pm. Members present were Kurt
Hungerford, Jake Colvin, Craig Berens, Matt Orstad, Keri Bachmeier, and Sue
Shirley. Scott Bachmeier was present as a guest.
- The
cast for the fall production "Murder in the First Person Singular"
was announced.
- The
date for moving into the ballroom was discussed. We are currently set for
Nov. 12-18. It was suggested that we talk to USC about getting the ballroom
as early as the 10th. Also, Craig would like to get keys to
Surbeck during production week and he and Jen will talk to Aramark about
that.
- USC
has had a problem with the scheduling for the production. In the future we
need to tell them to block out the whole production week and then we will
also have to tell them the times and dates of the actual production.
- The
time of the play for Nov. 16-18 was set for 7:00 pm.
- It
was suggested that rehearsals not be set in the classroom building if
possible. Late rehearsals are a problem as Security locks the building up
early. The AB, Bump, and Hardrocker rooms will probably be the best rooms.
- Craig
will talk to Physical Plant about build dates. He will announce the dates to
the club.
- The
camping trip was set for next Friday or Saturday, pending input from the
club.
- The
next Mass Drama Meeting was set for Thursday, September 28 at 4:01 pm. The
next Exec council meeting will be Tuesday, October 3 at 4:00 pm.
- Tasks
to be completed before next meeting: Craig will get a preliminary set design
and start scheduling with the Physical Plant. Matt and Jen will meet to get
publicity sheets figured out and ready to hand out to publicity crews. Keri
will set the rehearsal schedule.
- The
budget for the fall production will be approximately $1500.
- The
ad for the new director is still out there and the position is still open.
If a director is hired this semester, he/she will get an honorarium for
assisting the student directors. Jo Lee and Kathy Antonen have offered to
watch rehearsals and help the directors out.
- Production
week was discussed. Monday will be a full stop-start Tech run or cue to cue.
Tuesday will be a full dress. Wednesday is the final dress rehearsal and
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are production nights. Call has traditionally
been 2 hours prior to the show. The actors and tech crew need to be informed
that this means in the building and accounted for, but not necessarily in
the dressing rooms. Also, actors and tech crew need to be informed that
everyone stays for strike.
- The
ACE and Connects credit lists need to be updated. Sue will call them to
authorize Craig, Kurt, Jake and Nick Vosberg. Everyone else will come off
the list. If anyone needs to be paid for work done, Sue needs to authorize
it first.
- Meeting
was adjourned at 4:40 pm.
